Hello my beautiful supporters,
I pray all is going well with you – wherever you are.
Today I will be shedding some light on unity with hopes that division will never be something you entertain again.
Side note: I love providing the definitions of the word(s) that I write about because I believe definitions bring clarity to the point that is trying to be made.
Therefore, according to the google dictionary the word unity is “the state of being united or joined as a whole.” This definition is powerful to me because as a Christian – I know this is what Jesus did for me (us). His sacrifice gave me (us) another chance to be united with our Father who is in heaven. However, I also believe that there is a need and desire for the people of God to be united as well. Unity is powerful to me, and also important. Anyone who knows me will express that I value unity and thrive when others are working together purely. I do want to make a disclaimer that I am not a bible scholar nor am I a theologian. I simply love Jesus and I read my Bible. There are a plethora of scriptures in the bible that support unity, being on one accord, loving one another, making peace with all men, an undivided house not being able to stand, etc., but somehow – division still remains in the body of Christ.
I can think of an excess of reasons why this may be, but I know two prominent reasons are 1.) many are allowing the enemy (who is the father of lies) to plant erroneos accusations and perspectives of other individuals into their minds + they believe him (entertaining the devil), and 2.) many are being led by their sinful natures (flesh) and not the Spirit of God who brings life and peace to the soul.

The other day I was having a conversation with the Holy Spirit and He said something so powerful. He said “do not be distracted by the miniscule things that are happening around you (ending of friendships, gossip, offense, impurity, retaliation, your own emotions, emotional backlash, etc.)” He said that “they are all distractions.” Then He told me to “cast down every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ, bring it into captivity to the obedience of Christ and to place my mind on the things above and not here on earth.” He said because, “There will not be division in Heaven, so do not entertain it here on Earth.”

“Since then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.”
Colossians 3:1-4 NKJV
Let me tell you, the last statement “there will not be division in Heaven, so do not entertain it here on earth” helped me shift from the head space that I was in because if the goal is Heaven – why entertain the distractions that have the potential to keep me from inheriting the Kingdom of God? (unforgiveness, bitterness, hostility, impurity) In that moment, I chose to follow the Spirit of God and not my emotions – I have been blessed since. Overcoming evil with good! This is the only way.
My purpose on sharing this is to express my belief that the enemy is attacking many of us in this area; causing many to be offended, unforgiving, bitter, hostile, and paranoid towards the individuals they should be working with or better yet simply displaying the love of Christ to. We are mandated to love everyone. Owe no man nothing, but to love. From the beginning of time we were designed to work together! It should be a desire of ours. Literally. God created Eve for Adam because He said “man should not be alone.” We are created to be in relationship, yes! But, we are also created to be in unity: working together as a team, and joined as a whole.
When hostility, unforgiveness, tension, bitterness, impure/biased thoughts arise – cast them down, repent, and (as you are led) go have the pertinent conversations with the individuals. Please do not allow your emotions nor the enemy of your soul to keep you out of unity. Apologize, forgive, forget, let go, and move forward. Do not stay stuck.
